Report lends little insight into Goose Creek-area homicide

A 27-year-old man slain Saturday near Goose Creek suffered two bullet wounds from a 9 mm pistol, according to an incident report.

Around 2:30 a.m., deputies from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office walked into the house at 130 Jean Wells Drive and found D’Andre George White lying on the floor and moaning.

White, a resident of Ashley Phosphate Road in North Charleston, had wounds to his right thigh and his chest, the report stated. Deputies found a shell casing near the White’s head and another underneath him.

White was taken to a hospital, where he died about an hour later. An obituary said White had three stepchildren and four siblings.

Little is known about what led to the slaying of the man known as “Drop.” The report identifies a possible suspect only as “Little D.”

Two people who remained at the scene told deputies that they heard the gunshots but didn’t see what happened. After the gunfire rang out amid a gathering at the home, everyone else left.

A 44-year-old woman who called 911 told investigators that she was at the back door when the commotion occurred. She ran outside at first, then walked back inside to see White bleeding on the floor, according to the report.

A man also told the authorities that “all he heard was the loud noises of the shots going off, then everyone left the house,” the report stated.

A neighbor said two louds bangs awoke him about the time of the shooting. A pickup sped off.

Sheriff’s investigators have said they know who was present at the time of the shooting, but no suspect had been pinpointed.

Neighbors told The Post and Courier that people and vehicles come and go from the home frequently. Residents have reported their suspicions of drugs and prostitution to the Sheriff’s Office.

White had a history of drug arrests. One of his first run-ins with law enforcement came in 2003, when North Charleston police reported finding him with 2 ounces of marijuana in 20 bags, according to a report.
