Man wanted in liquor store burglary

Charleston police on Wednesday released surveillance photos from a Dec. 26 break-in at Burris Liquors on Meeting Street.

Charleston police are asking for the publicís help in identifying a man who broke into Burris Liquors on Meeting Street the day after Christmas.

The store owner arrived to work on the morning of Dec. 26 and discovered a window on the right side of the building had been broken out, police said. A check of surveillance video determined the break-in occurred at 1:30 a.m. that day.

Footage showed the burglar was a black man, about 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall. He was wearing a tan jacket, dark jeans, white tennis shoes and a ski mask.

The burglar stole a .38 caliber revolver and an undetermined amount of cash, according to a police report.
