DARLINGTON — Authorities say thieves stole a $65,000 spool of copper wire from a steel mill in Darlington.

Officials with Nucor Steel told Darlington County deputies that the spool was on a utility trailer when it was taken early Sunday morning.

Investigators say the thieves stole a forklift, drove it through the woods and into the trailer and took the spool before driving away.

Deputies say surveillance video shows four suspects stealing the wire. No arrests have been made.
