U.S. home to more people that ever in 2013, Census Bureau says
If America is your home, you’re not one in a million. You’re one of 315,091,138.
As the new year arrives, the population of the United States will have climbed by about 1 percent over this time last year, says the U.S. Census Bureau.
In January, one birth is expected to occur every eight seconds in the U.S. and one death every 12 seconds, as the population continues to grow.
In South Carolina, the population increased by 50,375 in the 12 months ending July 1, 2012, the Census Bureau estimates.
The state’s population is roughly 50 percent larger today than in 1980.
