Missing James Island man found safe

Mark Eddlemon, 64, who was reported missing to the Sheriff’s Office around 5:45 p.m. Sunday afternoon, has been found.

A James Island man who was reported missing earlier today has been found.

Mark Eddlemon, 64, was reported missing around 5:45 p.m. He was located in good condition about 7:50 p.m., Charleston County Sheriff’s Maj. Jim Brady said.

Eddlemon, who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, left his house at 442 Martello Drive around 4:30 p.m. on foot with a yellow Labrador retriever named Max. The Sheriff’s Office sent out a reverse 911 message to area residents and started a search off Harborview Road. He was found near California Dreaming.
