A tree limb that fell on a power line caused about 1,600 power outages in West Ashley near Savannah Highway this morning.

South Carolina Electric & Gas spokeswoman Kim Asbill said power was restored within a few minutes of the incident.

Crews are currently working to restore power to hundreds of other SCE&G customers who lost power in several weather-related outages.

Twenty-one incidents are linked to 826 outages in Charleston County, SCE&G reports.

Crews expect several clusters in North Charleston and West Ashley to be restored about 2 p.m., according to SCE&G.
