Ashley Kern has joined Moody CPAs & Advisors LLC in Mount Pleasant as office manager and marketing coordinator. She has five years of experience in the tourism and pharmaceutical industries. She has a bachelor’s degree in parks, recreation and tourism management from Clemson University.

Education

Hacker Burr has been named head of school for Charleston Collegiate School on Johns Island. He has a bachelor’s degree from Roanoke College and a master’s degree in business administration from The Citadel. He has been with Charleston Collegiate for more than 10 years in a variety of roles, including assistant head of school, director of development, director of admission and English teacher.

Engineering

Gwen Dennis has joined GEL Engineering LLC as an industrial hygiene technician. She has a bachelor’s degree in ecology and evolutionary biology from Tulane University and a master’s degree in environmental studies from the College of Charleston. She is licensed by the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control as an asbestos inspector and air sampler.

Finance

Chris Barker has joined Ikon Financial Group on The Isle of Palms as national sales director. Previously, he was a national and regional account executive for NovaStar Financial, Goldman Sachs and U.S. Bank. He has a bachelor’s degree in business and economics from Emory & Henry College and a master’s degree in business administration from The Citadel.

Financial planning

Hannah Chapman has been named branch office administrator for the Edward Jones office on James Island. Previously, she was general manager at Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q.

Health care

Morgan Klinkhamer has joined Total Life Care Charleston as patient advocate. She has a bachelor’s degree in health sciences from Michigan State University.

Law

Wes B. Allison has joined Kahn Law Firm LLC in Charleston as an associate attorney. Previously, he was a journalist for 20 years, most recently as Washington correspondent for the St. Petersburg Times. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Richmond and a law degree from the Charleston School of Law.

Real estate

Jennifer Burke has joined Isle of Palms-based Dunes Properties as a sales agent based in The Real Estate Studio in downtown Charleston. She has 19 years of real estate and home construction experience.

Marion Davis has joined Mount Pleasant-based Ziff Properties Inc. as construction project manager. Previously, he was a project manager at Ikhana. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the College of Charleston.

Miles Barkley, Henry B. Fishburne Jr., William H. Fishburne and Wendy Mulqueen have joined and Lee & Associates Charleston. Barkley is a principal. Fishburne Jr. is broker and developer. Fishburne is real estate manager and broker. Mulqueen, is marketing and broker/manager assistant. Previously, they were with The Barkley Co.

Restaurant

Brandon Buck has been named executive chef at Middleton Place Restaurant. Previously, he was banquet chef. He also has worked at Cypress in downtown Charleston and at Voysey’s at Cassique on Kiawah Island. He succeeds Micah Garrison, who has been named director of food services for Middleton Place.
