West Ashley wreck victim identified
The person who was killed in a wreck in West Ashley Monday has been identified.
Ann Schjorring, 71, of Seabrook Island, died from injuries sustained in the wreck at U.S. Highway 17 and Main Road, according to the Charleston County Coroner’s Office.
According to Charleston police, about 4:30 p.m. the driver of a sport-utility vehicle was traveling south on U.S. 17 and turned toward Main Road into the path of a semi-truck traveling north.
Police closed the intersection until about 8:30 p.m.
