Moncks Corner woman killed in wreck on U.S. Highway 52
A Moncks Corner woman died in a wreck on U.S. Highway 52 today.
According to the Highway Patrol, the driver of a 2012 Mini Cooper was making a left turn from Foxbank Boulevard onto Highway 52 about 4:30 p.m. when the car was hit by a 2009 Chevy pickup traveling east on Highway 52.
The driver of the Mini Cooper, who was wearing a seat belt, died at the scene from injuries. The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office identified her as Robin Schulte, 56, of Moncks Corner.
The driver of the pickup, who also was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Trident Hospital with minor injuries.
Traffic was rerouted for several hours.
The incident remains under investigation.
