A Charleston restaurant made Urbanspoon’s newly released list of America’s Most Popular New Restaurants of 2012.

CO, in downtown Charleston, was the only South Caroline restaurant to make the list, which highlights the 50 most sought-after restaurants to open in a given year. CO, at 340 King St., serves contemporary Vietnamese cuisine in a modern setting.

Eateries that made the list received the most coverage and reviews from professional food critics, bloggers, the Urbanspoon community and diners.

The list spans 37 metro areas across 22 states.

Urbanspoon, a website with a restaurant discovery application and reservation management system, released its list last week. Florida topped the list, followed by Tennessee.
