Police arrest man in West Ashley car break-in
Charleston police on Wednesday arrested a North Charleston man accused of using a credit card that was reported stolen from a car parked at the East Shore Athletic Club in West Ashley last week.
Police charged Terrance Lamar Myers, 24, of Poplin Avenue with financial transaction card theft, spokesman Charles Francis said.
The arrest was made after two woman reported their cars broken into on Dec. 3.
The women told police that someone shattered their car windows and stole several items including their purses, a camera, a cell phone, wallets, $600 in cash and multiple credit cards, an incident report states.
No witnesses reported seeing the break-in and a surveillance camera was not at the scene, the report said.
Later, one of the women told police someone used her credit card to make a fraudulent charge at a Sunoco gas station on Dorchester Road about 5:45 a.m. on Dec. 3.
Surveillance images from the gas station show Myers making the purchase, Francis said.
