St. Johns to hold community meeting on search for new fire chief
The St. John’s Fire District will hold a community meeting to discuss its nationwide search for a new fire chief.
Officials last month announced that Fire Chief Karl Ristow is leaving the department after 14 years.
A meeting to discuss the hiring of a new chief will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 17 at the St. John’s Fire and Rescue headquarters, 3327 Maybank Highway, a news release said.
Ristow will retire on Dec. 31, the release said. The 32-year firefighting veteran will be moving to Baltimore to support his wife, who took a job there.
