Charleston police are looking for a bus driver who is accused of groping a St. Andrews Middle School student on two occasions.
Macneil Deas, 47, of S.C. Highway 174 in Adams Run, is wanted on two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, police said.
A West Ashley woman called police on Nov. 5 to report that her 12-year-old daughter had been assaulted by a school bus driver.
The first incident reportedly occurred a year ago, police said. The driver allegedly brushed his open hand across the girl’s chest, according to a police report.
The woman told police the second incident occurred around early October and involved the bus driver grabbing and squeezing the girl’s buttocks while she was getting off the bus, police said.
The girl did not tell anyone about the incidents when they occurred because she was scared and unsure of what to do, police said.
Deas is currently on administrative leave from his job with Durham Bus Services, police said.
Anyone with information on the suspect can call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111 or Charleston police at 577-7434.
