Man surrenders after threating jump from Ravenel Bridge

A man holding a knife to his throat threatened to jump off the Arthur Ravenel Bridge at about 8 p.m. Thursday, but Mount Pleasant Police were able to talk him into surrendering, said Charleston Police Lt. Charles Hawkins.

Police and fire responded to the scene on the Mount Pleasant side of the bridge, he said.
