Ruffin teen dies in Colleton County crash
A Ruffin teen died in a single-vehicle crash in rural Colleton County Monday.
Jason “Dylan” Myers, 18, died from multiple injuries at the scene of a crash at the 1000 block of Confederate Highway in Lodge, Colleton County Coroner Rich Harvey said.
The crash happened about 6:15 p.m.
Myers was driving a 1998 Chevy Tahoe south along the road when he suddenly veered to the right, Trooper Bridget R. Wyant of the S.C. Highway Patrol said. He over-corrected, went off the left side of the road and crashed into a tree, she said.
The Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
Harvey said Myers graduated from Colleton County High School in May.
