Whoever put a “Guilty Pleasures” sign atop a float in last night’s Mount Pleasant Christmas Parade was guilty of not telling the town about it beforehand.
And town officials were not pleased to hear about the ad for the adult-themed store on Ashley Phosphate Road.
“We are aware that a sign advertising an adult-themed business appeared on a float at the town of Mount Pleasant Christmas Light Parade. The Town neither sanctioned nor approved the advertising,” Town Administrator Eric DeMoura said in a statement today.
He said the party in charge of the float didn’t disclose information about the sign in its entry form, as required.
“We do not support the adult-themed advertising presented on the float,” DeMoura said. “The language was contrary to the family-friendly nature of the parade and brought controversy to an otherwise exceptional parade.”
