Humpback whale startles anglers over the weekend

A group of anglers spotted a humpback whale just off the Charleston jetties Sunday, just a day or so after a radio-tagged great white shark swam past.

It’s that time of year in the Lowcountry. Right whales also are on the move through the waters.

The anglers estimated that the whale they spotted was more than 40 feet long. It was surrounded by a swarm of dolphins.
