Help make holidays happier for special needs family

D.N. is a mother who is tirelessly devoted to her special-needs adult son. Between her basic living expenses and extra costs relating to her son's needs, she has little money left over each month for any extra items or small “luxuries.”

She is worried about the holiday season because the cost of living has increased while her income has not. D.N. would like to make the holidays special for her family, but she doesn't know how that will be possible.

A woman who exudes a cheerful kindness, D.N. would like nothing more than to provide her family with a home-cooked holiday feast. Your generous contribution can help a Good Cheer Fund agency provide her with grocery vouchers so that she can nourish the bodies and souls of her loved ones this holiday season.

Donations to The Post and Courier's Good Cheer Fund have helped the less fortunate in the Lowcountry since 1927. The six charitable organizations sharing the funds collected are Carolina Youth Development Center, Lowcountry Food Bank, Salvation Army, Star Gospel Mission, Association for the Blind and Coastal Catholic Charities. Every cent of the money raised goes directly to the agencies as there are no administrative costs involved.

Send tax-deductible contributions to the Good Cheer Fund, c/o The Post and Courier, 134 Columbus St., Charleston, S.C. 29403-4800. Donations also may be made in person or online at www.goodcheerfund.com.
