Angelina, 83, lives alone in a small apartment on the East Side. After working all her life, she receives a modest monthly income from Social Security, but it is not enough to pay for the rising cost of heating bills and to purchase groceries.

Needing help with paying her electric bill, Angelina contacted a Good Cheer Fund agency to ask for assistance. Your generous contribution will enable this agency to provide Angelina and others like her with the means to keep their apartments warm this winter. In addition, a food gift card will help Angelina purchase additional groceries to meet her nutritional needs.

Contributions to The Post and Courier’s Good Cheer Fund have helped the less fortunate in the Lowcountry since 1927. The six charitable organizations sharing the funds collected are the Lowcountry Food Bank, the Salvation Army, Star Gospel Mission, the Association for the Blind, Coastal Catholic Charities and Carolina Youth Development Center.

Every cent of the money goes directly to the agencies, as there are no administrative costs involved.

Send tax-deductible contributions to the Good Cheer Fund, c/o The Post and Courier, 134 Columbus St., Charleston, SC 29403-4800. Donations also may be made in person or online at www.goodcheerfund.com.
