A North Charleston hotel fire led to a meth bust late Wednesday night, police say.
North Charleston police responded to the Relax Inn at 2512 Ashley Phosphate Road, to assist North Charleston firefighters in investigating a structure fire shortly before midnight, an incident report states.
Police saw a large amount of smoke coming from a room at the hotel, according to the report.
Investigators searched the room and found several items that are commonly linked to meth labs, the report said.
Police arrested Christopher Meredith, 32, of Jillian Circle in Goose Creek, and Carmen Jensen, 33, of Amy Street in Moncks Corner in connection with the incident.
Police charged both with manufacturing methamphetamine, according to jail records.
They are being held at the Charleston County jail.
