Charleston police arrested a Summerville man who they say struck a pedestrian and then drove away.

A 45-year-old Virginia man told police he remembered walking out of Huger’s Place on King Street shortly before he woke up lying on the ground and bleeding from his head about 2 a.m. Sunday. Witnesses saw a red compact pickup truck strike the man, an incident report states. The truck’s driver pulled over briefly at King and Cannon streets before driving away, according to the report.

Investigators found the driver on Bee Street at 2:41 a.m., police spokesman Charles Francis said. Tracy Amos Prioleau, 33, of Midland Parkway was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with personal injury and driving under suspension, Francis said.
