Teen shot during birthday party at Mount Pleasant home
A teen was shot while a attending a birthday party at a Mount Pleasant home Saturday night.
Mount Pleasant police arrived at a home off of Highway 17 North shortly after 10 p.m. and saw an 18-year-old male lying on the ground in the front yard, an incident report states.
The teen was conscious and talking, but bleeding from a wound to his arm, according to the report.
A crowd was scattered in the yard due to a birthday party that was taking place, the report states.
According to witnesses, a fight broke out during the party and shots followed.
Witnesses told police they could not identify who was involved in the fight because of the crowd and chaos that ensued after the shots were fired.
The wounded teen also told police he did not know who shot him.
The teen was transported to Medical University Hospital for treatment.
The shooting is still under investigation and a suspect has not been identified.
