Wake Forest pulls away against Charleston Southern women in basketball

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Wake Forest used runs of 15-0 and 13-0 to rally past Charleston Southern.

Charleston Southern (3-3) led 23-20 in the first half before Wake Forest (3-5) went on a 15-0 run.

In the second half, CSU cut the lead to 41-33 before the Demon Deacons used their second big run to pull away.

D.J. Fowler and Lakeitha Alston scored 14 points apiece for CSU, while Shay Jones added 11.

Asia Williams led Wake Forest with 15 points.

Chelsea Douglas added 10. The Demon Deacons took advantage of 25 CSU turnovers for 29 points.

CSU next hosts S.C. State on Dec. 12.
