Charleston police still hunting for suspects in Cooper Street armed robbery, burglary

Coaxum

Charleston police are looking for two more suspects in connection with an armed robbery and burglary that happened Wednesday on Cooper Street.

They arrested one of three suspects Thursday, charging Robert Coaxum, 25, of Sheppard Street, with armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, and first-degree burglary, police spokesman Charles Francis said.

Coaxum is being held at the Charleston County jail.

Police say the victim was at home when three black males, armed with guns, entered the apartment and demanded money.

The men stole money and electronics, then fled the apartment, Francis said.

Police have identified another suspect, Sherrone Donell Carson, 35, of Sierra Drive North in Charleston. He was being sought, Francis said.

Investigators were still trying to identify the third suspected robber.

Anyone with information about the robbery should call Charleston Police at 577-7434 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
