Source: Clemson’s Morris interviews with N.C. State
CLEMSON — Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris was interviewed by N.C. State in Atlanta today, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
The Post and Courier was told Louisiana Tech coach Sonny Dykes also was interviewed for the position.
Morris led Clemson to the nation’s No. 6 offense this regular season, his second with the program. Though just three years removed from coaching high school football in Texas, Morris is the nation’s highest-paid assistant coach, earning $1.3 million per year.
N.C. State fired coach Tom O’Brien on Sunday. O’Brien earned $1.9 million last season with the Wolfpack. The N.C. State board of trustees held a meeting today to discuss compensation limits regarding its next head football coach.
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney and Morris did not immediately respond to messages.
