College of Charleston defeats Charleston Southern, 72-67

College of Charleston guards Andrew Lawrence and Anthony Stitt each scored 18 points to lead the Cougars past cross-town rival Charleston Southern, 72-67, before a standing-room-only crowd of more than 1,000 at CSU Fieldhouse.

The Cougars used a 13-0 run early in the second half to break open the game.

Adjehi Baru added 11 points and eight rebounds, while Willis Hall had 11 points and seven rebounds for the Cougars.

Charleston Southern guards Arlon Harper and Saah Nimley led the Buccaneers with 20 points each.

Lawrence connected on four free throws in the final minute of play to secure the victory.
