A kind and resourceful mother, Mrs. Smith works two jobs and many long nights to provide for her four children. Ten-year-old John is a straight-A student with excellent manners. Mary and Laura, aged 5 and 3, are curious and creative little girls, while 8-month-old James is an active baby who loves to play with his mother and siblings.

Mrs. Smith is striving to provide her children with whatever they need and is working with a family strengthening program at a Good Cheer Fund agency. Her case worker has helped her connect with community organizations and provided basic needs, such as clothing for the school year.

Though she is trying her hardest, Mrs. Smith will struggle to provide a holiday meal and gifts, buy new bedding and pay the familyís heating bills. Your generous donation to the Good Cheer Fund can help make the season a bit brighter for Mrs. Smith and her children.

Contributions to The Post and Courierís Good Cheer Fund have helped the less fortunate in the Lowcountry since 1927. The six charitable organizations sharing the funds collected are the Lowcountry Food Bank, the Salvation Army, Star Gospel Mission, the Association for the Blind, Catholic Charities and Carolina Youth Development Center. Every cent of the money goes directly to the agencies, as there are no administrative costs involved.
