Charleston County sheriff’s deputies have arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with a robbery earlier this month at a West Ashley convenience store.
Douglas Samuel Luck of Heritage Park Road in Charleston is charged with strong arm robbery in connection with the Nov. 17 incident at Sky Mart BP station1924 Sam Rittenburg Blvd., Sheriff’s Capt. Mike Stanley said.
The robbery occurred about 8:15 a.m. A man entered the business and walked to the counter as if to make a purchase. Once there. he walked behind the counter as the clerk opened the register, grabbed money and drove off on a moped, Stanley said.
Luck was a known customer of the store and later called the victim of the robbery several times to apologize, deputies said.
Deputies caught up with Luck on Monday, and he is now being held at the Charleston County jail. His bail is set at $50,000.
