Firefighters and Red Cross volunteers have been extra busy this week.
In addition to a fire that destroyed 14 apartments in North Charleston on Monday, four other house fires broke out Monday and today.
According to the Red Cross:
A family of four was displaced from their home at 401 Robin Drive in Goose Creek this morning. The fire started in the kitchen. The Goose Creek Fire Department responded.
One person was displaced after a fire at 2150 Eleanor Drive in North Charleston this afternoon. The North Charleston Department responded.
A Ladson resident was displaced after a fire at 488 Garwood Drive Monday afternoon. The Cayce and Charleston County Fire Departments responded.
A Ladson family of four was displaced after a fire at 102 Dale Avenue Monday morning. The fire started in the kitchen. The Ladson Fire Department responded.
The Red Cross provided all the families with temporary housing, money and supplies to replace lost items and referrals to partner agencies.
The Red Cross relies on donations to help fire victims.
