A house near Goose Creek was severely damaged by fire this morning.

The Goose Creek Rural Fire Department responded to the call on Red Bank Road near Goose Creek High School shortly after 10 a.m.

It’s not clear yet where the fire started, according to firefighter Kevin Carter.

American Red Cross volunteers provided the occupant with a comfort kit, money to help replace lost food and clothing and referrals to partner agencies.

The Red Cross relies on donations to help fire victims.
