A Berkeley County woman was arrested today in a meth lab bust in the Sangaree community.
Sharon Lynn Haynes, 43, of 1827 Eastside St. was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. She is being held at the Berkeley County jail.
The house is off Royle Road, just a few blocks south of heavily traveled U.S. Highway 17-A east of Summerville.
Agents with the Berkeley County Drug Enforcement went to the residence after somebody complained about a chemical smell, Capt. Mike Williams said.
Haynes gave agents permission to search the property, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Dan Moon said. After agents found several items consistent with the manufacture of methamphetamine, they obtained a search warrant for the entire property and found several clear plastic bags containing a white powdery substance inside the house, he said.
