Suspect in West Ashley pharmacy robbery surrenders to police

A Charleston man who was a suspect in a West Ashley pharmacy robbery surrendered to police today.

John H. Davey Jr., 22, of Sterling Drive, is charged with strong-arm robbery. He is being held in the Charleston County jail.

A man walked into the Rite Aid on Old Towne Road about 3 p.m. Nov. 13 and demanded Oxycodone, according to Charleston police. The man left the pharmacy with 260 Oxycodone pills, police said.

Police released photos of the man they suspected of the robbery from the store’s surveillance video.

Davey turned himself in at the police station on Lockwood Boulevard today, police spokesman Charles Francis said.
