The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office announced two personnel changes this afternoon.
Chief Deputy Mitch Lucas is the new assistant sheriff, a position previously held by Andrene Coury-Smith.
Maj. Ollie Puckett was “relieved of duty,” according to a news release. Sheriff Al Cannon said in a statement there was “a need for a new direction in the positions.”
Maj. Jim Brady said he did not have additional information on the changes.
