The Mount Pleasant Police Department’s SWAT Team was called out today to get a woman out of a house.

According to Maj. Stan Gragg, officers went to 542 Marsh Grass Blvd. in the Heron Point subdivision shortly before 4 p.m. to deal with a woman threatening suicide.

The SWAT Team and negotiators were called to the scene when officers were told the woman might have a gun and knife and was threatening others inside the house.

The woman was persuaded to come out of the house about 6:40 p.m. and was taken into emergency protective custody.

A SWAT Team member accidentally fired a weapon, although no damages were discovered, Gragg said.
