SUMMERVILLE — The town will pay off an outstanding loan on its $5 million parking garage, to save $700,000 interest over the next nine years.
The decision approved today leaves open the future of a five-story structure criticized as excessive and not able so far to be the money maker a former council sought.
The town shelved the idea of charging for parking after hearing complaints.
