Charleston County man accused of raping runaway
A Hollywood man gave a juvenile runaway a place to hide out from Social Services workers who were looking for her, then raped her at gunpoint, according to an arrest affidavit.
Robert Ryan Grampus, 21, was arrested today and charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
According to the affidavit from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, Grampus knew that the Department of Social Services was looking for the girl after she ran away from custody last month, and he told her she could stay with his sister in Ravenel.
On the night of Oct. 18, Grampus woke the sleeping girl and raped her while he pointed a shotgun at her face, according to the affidavit.
The girl asked an officer at Clark Academy in Ravenel for help. She was taken to a hospital for evaluation and Grampus was arrested.
Grampus is being held in the Charleston County jail.
