Charleston police have arrested a fugitive who had been wanted on drug charges.

Charleston County Sheriff’s detectives had been hunting for Denangelo Martequiz Brown, 23, aka “DeeDee,” on charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine base, Sheriff’s Maj. Jim Brady said Sunday.

Charleston police and Charleston County jail websites show that Brown was picked up by city police this morning and booked into the detention center around 7:35 a.m.

Details on his arrest were not immediately available because city offices are closed for Veterans Day, Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis said.
