Berkeley County murder suspect arrested in Orangeburg this morning

Berkeley County sheriff’s deputies this morning arrested a man accused of shooting another man to death outside of a Pringletown club.

Ishmel Taquan Rivers, 19, is charged with murder in the death of Dijuan Jacques Smith. Smith, 30, died at a local hospital Friday night after he was shot at a Yellowstone Lane club about 5:30 p.m., sheriff’s spokesman Dan Moon said.

Rivers was taken into custody early Saturday morning at 917 Presidential Drive in Orangeburg with the help of Orangeburg County sheriff’s deputies, Moon said.
