Teacher accused of sending inappropriate texts to student

A Georgetown County teacher is accused of sending inappropriate texts to a student at Waccamaw High School, authorities said.

Christopher Wall, 22, of Carnell Loop in Georgetown, is charged with one count of unlawful use of telephone, according tothe Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office.

On Oct. 29, a juvenile student told the principal at Waccamaw High that she and a teacher were communicating with text messages, public information officer Carrie Cuthbertson said. The principal notified a school resource officer and investigators were sent to the school, she said.

Investigators obtained a warrant for Wall’s arrest, and he surrendered to deputies on Tuesday, Cuthbertson said.

Authorities did not reveal the contents of the messages, but described them as inappropriate.
