An alleged gang member who beat a double murder rap is now accused of shooting two women outside a Colleton County nightclub today.

Kaylon Ramer Aiken, 26, of Carn Street in Walterboro, is wanted on two charges of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. He is considered armed and dangerous, according to the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting occurred at about 2 a.m. outside Plum Crazy Night Club on Jefferies Boulevard, near Walterboro, Sheriff George Malone said.

Witnesses told deputies a fight occurred inside the club just prior to shots being fired outside as people were leaving, Malone said.

Deputies rushed to Colleton Medical Center after two women showed up there seeking treatment for gunshot wounds, Malone said. Jeronica Chaney had been shot in the lower abdomen and Alexis Brown was wounded in the back of her left knee, he said.

Their conditions were not immediately available.

Authorities have not revealed how they tied Aiken to the crime. Malone said investigators are still trying to determine a motive for the shooting.

In 2007, Aiken was charged with two counts of murder in a shooting that left two dead at a Ritter mobile home. He later beat those charges, however, records show.
