Murder suspect Travaris Walker is back in Charleston after being extradited from Georgia, where he fled after slipping from his electronic monitoring bracelet last month, authorities said.
Authorities transported Walker, 29, back to the Lowcountry on Wednesday evening and placed him in the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center, Charleston County Sheriff’s Maj. Jim Brady said.
Walker is accused of fatally shooting Marquis Rashad Richardson, 25, in the head on Dec. 19 in Lincolnville after Walker and three others allegedly abducted Richardson from a peninsula home.
Investigators said Walker shot Richardson after he was unable to reclaim some property he believed Richardson had taken from him.
Walker fled Charleston on Oct. 20, 2012 after slipping out of his monitoring device, authorities said. The U.S. Marshals Service tracked him to Riverdale Ga., where he was taken into custody on Oct. 26.
Walker will be scheduled for a hearing before a Circuit Court judge, which will likely occur next week at the earliest, Brady said.
