Yorktown Association offering discounted tickets to Friday’s Carrier Classic
The USS Yorktown CV10 Association is offering a limited number of tickets to the Walmart Carrier Classic charity basketball doubleheader on Friday at 40 percent off the regular rate.
Tickets will sell for $300 each and are good for both men’s and women’s games. All proceeds will support student educational programs and scholarships offered by the Patriots Point Institute of History, Science and Technology.
The women’s match-up at 4 p.m. will feature NCAA championship runner-up Notre Dame versus Ohio State, which finished No. 16 in the AP Top 25. In the men’s game at 7 p.m., Final Four participant Ohio State will take on Sweet 16 contender Marquette. NBC Sports Network will air both games live from the flight deck of the World War II-era aircraft carrier Yorktown at Patriots Point.
Tickets can be picked up 9 a.m.-5 p.m. today through Thursday at the Patriots Point ticket booth, or 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. the day of the event. To purchase tickets, go to www.ussyorktownspecialsales.org.
