A construction company employee from Georgia died Sunday in a single-vehicle crash near Harleyville.

Jesse Clement, 34, of Pearson, Ga. died from blunt force trauma, said Alice Durr, Dorchester County chief deputy coroner.

He was working for Summit Industrial Construction of Alpharetta, Ga.

Clement was driving a 2002 Honda Accord south around 6:50 p.m. when it went off the left side of Short Cut Road near U.S. Highway 78 and struck a tree, said S.C. Highway Patrol Cpl. Bob Beres. The driver was not wearing a seat belt, Beres said.
