Senate 41 candidates dash to the finish
Senate hopefuls Republican Paul Thurmond and Democrat Paul Tinkler are locked in the Lowcountry’s hottest political contest and are spending their final days reaching out to undecided voters.
They’re making calls, talking to small groups and walking around neighborhoods in District 41, which stretches from James Island to West Ashley to small slices of North Charleston and Summerville.
They’re also keeping an eye out for last-minute bombshells that might be lobbed by the other side.
Both candidates don’t agree on much these days — as is clear from their rival advertisements accusing the other of raising taxes and wasting tax dollars — other than that they’ll be relieved when the race is over.
