Charleston software firm Blackbaud postpones earnings release due to Sandy
Daniel Island-based software maker Blackbaud Inc. has joined a growing list of publicly traded companies that are delaying their quarterly earnings because of the superstorm formerly known as Hurricane Sandy.
The company was supposed to release the information today at 5 p.m. The third quarter numbers will now come out Thursday at 8 a.m., Blackbaud said in a statement.
U.S financial markets are closed again today because of the destruction in New York City and New Jersey caused by Sandy, which has been downgraded from a hurricane to a cyclone. Many of the financial analysts who follow Blackbaud and participate in the company’s quarterly conference calls work in the Northeast.
Blackbaud is the world’s largest maker of software designed to help nonprofit organizations raise money and communicate with donors.
