GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Authorities say a man charged with killing a Greenville couple had recently been released from prison and knew the pairís housekeeper.

Greenville County deputies say 22-year-old Jonathan Donell Rhodes was charged last week with murder, first-degree burglary and kidnapping.

Authorities say 78-year-old Gary Wells and 77-year-old Helen Wells were found stabbed to death in their home earlier this month.

A woman who worked as a housekeeper for the couple has been accused of stealing money from them before they were killed. Deputies say Shirley Ann Rogers used Helen Wellsí credit card without permission.

Authorities didnít elaborate on how Rogers knew Rhodes, who was released on probation in March after serving part of a 5-year sentence for strong-arm robbery.

It wasnít known if Rhodes had an attorney.
