Flummerfelt to retire from Spoleto after 2013 season
Dr. Joseph Flummerfelt announced today that he will step down as Spoleto Festival USA’s Artistic Director for Choral Activities after the 2013 Festival season.
Flummerfelt has been with the international performing arts festival since its beginning. He also served as chorus master of the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, Italy, from 1971 through 1993, and has served with Spoleto Festival USA since its inception in 1977.
