Several people in the Johns Island area received flyers in their mailboxes that claimed to be from the Army Corps of Engineers, Charleston District.

The flyers claimed that the people receiving them were in violation of wetland conservation buffer areas, and that further violations would be prosecuted.

The flyers were not official correspondence from the Army Corps, according to a news release.
