Clemson-Duke gametime set; Clemson’s Morris keeps it G-rated

CLEMSON - Clemson will play at Duke at 7 p.m. on Nov. 3 and the game will be televised on ESPN2, the ACC announced Monday.

It will be the first night game Clemson has played at Duke, which is off to a surprising start, becoming bowl eligible with a win over North Carolina on Saturday.

It will be Clemson’s second straight night game as the Tigers are also playing at Wake Forest at 7:30 p.m. Thursday (ESPN).

Clemson has not played a night game at home since its 2010 loss to South Carolina.

Morris keeps it G-rated:

Clemson offensive coordinator is not pleased with his offense and particularly his offensive line coming of a shaky offensive showing against Virginia Tech.

“I’m going to be as nice and G-rated as I can be about it,” Morris said Monday. “We got no movement, we didn’t knock anyone off of the ball. We’re just inconsistent, we don’t have a lot of depth, a lot of competition in practice.”

Boyd is OK:

Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd suffered what was described a “stinger” to his shoulder in Saturday’s game. Morris said Boyd returned to practice Sunday and said he was “good.”

Can Cortez conquer a cornerback assignment:

With starting cornerback Darius Robinson out for the regular season with a broken ankle the team is counting on 6-foot-3, 200-pound redshirt freshman Cortez Davis to contribute in the defensive backfield.

“He’s got all the athletic ability,” teammate Xavier Brewer said. “He just needs that mental aspect.”
