NEWBERRY — Authorities say three men suspected of carjacking in Greenville County have been arrested after trying to run from police in Newberry County.

Investigators said a trooper who was stopping to check on a disabled car on the shoulder of Interstate 26 near Newberry late Saturday night saw three men run into the woods.

Newberry County Sheriff Lee Foster says deputies linked the men to the carjacking in Greenville County. The sheriff says one of the men was arrested a short time later, but it took officers hours of searching in the woods to find the other two suspects.

Foster says no one was injured taking the three men into custody. Their names have not been released.
